Happy Friday, friends! Do you ever have a weird week? Maybe strange  is a better word. This week we are celebrating Christmas with my in-laws, before they go back to Florida. We're having pizza for Christmas. My question is: What kind of dessert do you serve for Pizza Christmas? Should I serve pumpkin pie? Iced Christmas cookies? ๐Ÿ˜• My hubs also cracked the windshield on his car this week. He wasn't sure what hit it, but he took Tuesday off of work so someone could come fix it . . . only to have to take Thursday off as well, because the whole windshield needed replaced. Like I said, strange week. * I finished The Story Peddler  and I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel, due out next year. This is a sweet little story. I enjoyed reading it. And it has a pirate! Um, yay! Right now, I'm reading Waking Beauty by Sarah E. Morin. It's a retelling of Sleeping Beauty. It is taking me longer to read this particular book. Don't get me wr...

My Book, Vikings, and Fall

Obviously, the first thing I'm going to mention in this week's blog is the fact that A Desperate Love  has officially released! Yay!๐Ÿ˜ For those of you who live here, I am doing a giveaway at the Flora Library. Why not swing by and enter (Rules prohibit family from entering. Sorry!)? Grab a free key chain while you're at it (I made them myself, so supplies are limited.) ๐Ÿ•ฎ One of my sister's posted this picture of her copy of my book. Isn't it great? Speaking of sisters, another sister (I have a lot of them๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ) text me her opinion/personal review of my book. "AWESOME! I loved it! It was well written, intriguing, suspenseful, and had Christian principles without being cheesy!" --H. Maybe she's partial, but it made me feel so loved. ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ•ฎ Thing I am watching this week: The History Channel's Vikings . I am 2/3 of the way through Season 1. I wasn't sure at first, but...

Five Days!

Five days until the release of A Desperate Love ! I'm just over here thinking piratey-pillagey things. I finally got my box of author copies yesterday. Eep!! The darling hubs met me at the door with said box. He's such a gem. ๐Ÿ’š It's surreal holding a book in my hand that I wrote. It's like I'm giving ya'll a peek into my brain. ๐Ÿ˜• So weird. ๐Ÿ•ฎ This week, I'm reading The Story Peddler  by Lindsay A. Franklin. I'm about two-thirds of the way through it. It's the first book in The Weaver Trilogy. I'm really enjoying it. Right now I need to know what happened to Brac! Is he the one who got lashed? Was it Riwor? Ugh! "You're killing me, Smalls." (For you youngins, please refer to the baseball classic The Sandlot . I'm sure it's on DVD somewhere as it is awesome .) My favorite line in this book so far is: "Heat swallowed me like I'd fallen into a fire. Except the fire ...

Song I am currently in love with: Please Take Me , by Beth Crowley I only recently discovered Beth. She writes music based off of books. Wwhhaaaatt??? It's a no-brainer, people. Thing I've been doing a lot of this week: Attending soccer games. This is the last year the hubs has a kid doing a school sport, which is weird since we've had soccer games the entire time we've been married. Therefore, I've also been sweating a lot. It's hot here in the Hoosier state! What I'm reading: I am re-reading  Sky in the Deep . Aside from the fact that the library is closed, I really, really, love it. I've watched the book trailer so many times I practically have it memorized. I won't admit to how many times that is! ⚓❤⚔ And now . . . A sneak peak/quote! This may be the last one before it releases. I haven't decided yet. Enjoy! Olivia drew her sword and whipped around to face him. Amusement danced in his eyes....
