Vacation, Audiobooks, & Dolly🦋

 Fall is fast approaching, and I'm already diving into my favorite season. I listened to Spells for Forgetting, which felt like a cozy hug or an old friend, before moving on to another Adrienne favorite (more winter-themed). I picked up some pink and coral faux pumpkins from the dollar store and put them in our playroom, which, to be honest, is more of a multi-purpose room. One side is dedicated to the grandbabies. The other has cookbooks, decor storage, tea, & herbalism books.

Since I'm on vacation this week, I took time to better organize that room and the sewing supplies in my office. My fabric stash is much tidier now, and there's a dedicated space for my sewing machine. I've been crafting, weeding the yard, and harvesting from my garden. And I made sure to set aside three days for squeezing in edits. I'm nearly a third of the way through this round. I can't wait for you to meet Jasper, Lark, and the ladies of Kirkley! This is a romance for book nerds about book nerds. If you love libraries, have an opinion on the Oxford comma, and/or are into fantasy, this one's for you!



Reading . . .

As I said, I finished this month with Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young. Though I don't read much fantasy anymore, I still love Adrienne's books. Her writing is atmospheric and lyrical. Honestly, I can't tell you how many times I've been reading or re-reading one of her books and noticed that my own writing seems to improve.

Before that, I read the second book in the Lancaster Family series by Sarah M. Eden, Courting Miss Lancaster. The previous book, Seeking Persephone, is a mini-series on Amazon Prime. I recently saw a video on Sarah's social media announcing that books two and three will also be made into mini-series! If you like Regency and clean romance, I recommend both formats!

Lastly--or rather, firstly😆--I read Home Run Heart by Hailey Gardiner (Kitt's Harbor #2). I enjoy romcoms, surprisingly even the occasional sports-themed story. I've been on the lookout for a baseball one for a while now. My husband grew up playing, so maybe that's why. Not to mention, if I had any questions, he'd be just the person to ask.😉



Music/YouTube/etc. . . .

I don't really have anything to share here. Mostly, I've been really enjoying listening to audiobooks. It somehow feels calming compared to my favorite YouTubers. As far as music, I've been singing (but not listening to) "Jolene" a lot. I know many of us have been saddened by losing a person as kind, humble, and genuine as Dolly. I'm not super familiar with her music, so if you have a favorite Dolly Parton song, please pass it along.🦋🎸🎵📚👢🎤I'll take general music recommendations as well!

 Happy spring, friends!🌞🌱 We've had a lot of rain here in the Hoosier state. It's getting warmer, and things are greening up. I can't wait for sunny days when I can go for walks and start working on my garden. This year, I'm planning to try my hand at container gardening. My garden plot is pretty small to start with. I like things that are straightforward and practical. So, this seems like it might be a good fit. And less weeding! I have been so busy this week, friends. How about you? I'm also super excited about "A Desperate Love" coming out! As we get closer to the release, I've been thinking about how crazy this journey has been. Did you know that I originally wrote the entire thing out with pencil and paper? The Entire Thing! Who does that? Me, apparently! Most recently I've been doing my editing amid construction noise.  This process has included, but has not been limited to, writing in my dining room within reach of a basketball hoop, saving money for a year to buy my Chrome Book, learning how to market myself online, typing for hours , going into work on my days off to type . . . etc., etc. Honestly, it is a story in itself! My Book, Vikings, and Fall

Obviously, the first thing I'm going to mention in this week's blog is the fact that A Desperate Love  has officially released! Yay!😁 For those of you who live here, I am doing a giveaway at the Flora Library. Why not swing by and enter (Rules prohibit family from entering. Sorry!)? Speaking of sisters, another sister (I have a lot of them💙💚💛💜) text me her opinion/personal review of my book. "AWESOME! I loved it!
